Programming Committee

Director of Events (3 to 4 positions open)
This position is responsible for the planning and execution of event(s) as well as helping other volunteers prepare and manage events. The commitment is expected for 1 year.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Event planning and execution (logistics)
  • Strategic planning around event topics
  • Interviewing potential speakers
  • Venue selection
  • Budget management
  • Sponsor relations
  • Continue to build upon and improve Programming within the Chapter

Requirements:

  • Experience with event planning or project management ( 2- 3 years)
  • Experience in Marketing ( minimum of 1 to 2 years)
  • Exceptional communication skills – communicating with board members, interviewing potential speakers and venues, etc.
  • Responsive, detail-oriented, and exceptional organizational skills

Approximate time commitment:

  • Leading/planning events: When you own an event, 2-3 hours per week until the event is completed.
  • Expected participation in Programming Committee meetings: 1 hr p/month.
  • Expected participation in strategic planning: 4 hours p/6 months.

Event Coordinator (3 to 4 positions open)

This position is responsible for supporting the Event Director in event management.
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Event Director and leading in some of the aspects of Event Planning and Execution which include:
  • Event planning and execution (logistics)
  • Strategic planning around event topics
  • Interviewing potential speakers
  • Venue selection
  • Budget management
  • Sponsor relations
  • Continue to build upon and improve Programming within the Chapter
Requirements:
  • Experience in Marketing ( minimum of 1 to 2 years)
  • Good communication skills - communicating with board members, interviewing potential speakers and venues, etc.
  • Responsive, committed, and an exceptional team player
Approximate time commitment:
  • Supporting events: When you support an event, 2-3 hours per week until the event is completed
  • Expected participation in Programming Committee meetings: 1 hr p/month
  • Expected participation in strategic planning: 4 hours p/6 months
