DESCRIPTION:Register now! \n\n\n\nThis is our first DEI event series focusing on the topic of creating inclusive workplaces for LGBTQ+ employees.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nWe are excited to announce the launch of our DEI event series! Each quarter\, AMA Boston will be partnering with other chapters across the country to talk about different DEI topics and provide a forum for our community to ask questions and learn from one another. \nIn celebration of Pride month\, this event will be focusing on the topic of creating inclusive workplaces for LGBTQ+ employees. We’ll be hearing from our panel of guest speakers Rebecca Sanborn\, founder and President of Sanborn Diversity Training Solutions LLC\, and Laramey Lawson\, EVP\, Insights & Engagement at GS&F\, on the topic and you will also have the opportunity to engage with other event attendees. \nAMA Boston has partnered with AMA Triangle and AMA Nashville to bring you this exciting event. You’ll be able to connect with other members of the AMA Triangle and Nashville communities\, as well as members of the Boston community. \nWe will be donating half of all proceeds to The Trevor Project\, a non-profit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer\, and questioning youth. You can learn more about The Trevor Project here. \n\nAbout the speakers\nRebecca Sanborn\, Founder & President\, Sanborn Diversity Training Solutions\, LLC \nThe founder and president of Sanborn Diversity Training Solutions\, LLC\, Rebecca Sanborn offers LGBTQ+ cultural competency training for businesses\, nonprofits\, and public sector entities.  Rebecca is passionate about human rights\, diversity\, equity\, and inclusion.  As a bisexual woman\, she is also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community herself.  Rebecca holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in paralegal studies from Rivier University.  In addition\, she holds numerous certificates in subjects that inform the curriculum of Sanborn Solutions\, including a Diversity and Inclusion Professional Certificate from Cornell University ILR School.  In her free time\, Rebecca enjoys reading\, singing\, walking in the woods\, and spending time with her spouse and family.  \nLaramey Lawson\, EVP\, Insights & Engagement\, GS&F \nAn industry veteran with just shy of 40 years in the advertising game\, Laramey Lawson is the creative mind behind countless integrated campaigns as EVP\, Director of Insights and Engagement at Nashville\, Tenn.-based\, fully-integrated advertising agency\, GS&F.  \nThrough his keen understanding of how the proper insight can create magic for any brand\, he thoughtfully guides paid\, owned\, and earned media to create meaningful audience connections. Lawson’s thoughtful approach and inspired leadership can be seen in envelope-pushing work for a vast roster of brands\, including Arby’s\, Honda\, Bridgestone\, Firestone Tennessee Titans\, Nashville Predators\, LP Building Solutions\, Tractor Supply Company\, Benson – Hill and HealthStream.  \nA greatly respected member of Nashville’s creative community\, his passion extends beyond his client work in support of the advancement of the arts and the advertising industry as a whole through organizations such as the National Academy of Television Arts and Science – Mid-South region\, American Advertising Federation Nashville\, 4A’s Board of Governors\, Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce\, and the Frist Arts Museum. He is the recipient of the AAF Nashville President’s Trophy\, the Nashville Mosaic Award\, and has served as the AFF Nashville Student Addy’s Chairman.

In this session\, the experts will discuss a range of topics\, including:  \n• the importance of brand building  \n• dispel myths about branding  \n• brand vs. product marketing  \n• the role of analysts vs. influencers  \n• trends in branding \nAbout the speakers:\nJim Brown\,  \nPresident of Digital Innovation Research \, Tech-Clarity \nJim Brown is the President of Digital Innovation Research for independent research firm Tech-Clarity. He covers the digital enterprise\, PLM\, PDM\, IoT\, portfolio management\, digital manufacturing\, and other solutions for manufacturers.  \nJim founded Tech-Clarity in 2002 and has over 30 years of industry experience in the manufacturing and software industries. He began his career in manufacturing engineering and software systems at GE before pursuing management consulting at Andersen Consulting (Accenture). He subsequently served as a strategy\, marketing\, and product development executive for software companies specializing in ERP\, PLM\, Supply Chain\, and related manufacturing solutions. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland\, College Park.  \nJim is actively researching the impact of digital transformation and technology convergence in manufacturing. His research analyzes the business value available from new initiatives and technologies including cloud computing\, advanced analytics\, product innovation platforms\, service transformation\, augmented reality\, the digital twin\, and the digital thread.  \nMr. Brown is an experienced author and speaker and enjoys engaging with people with a passion to improve business performance through digital enterprise strategies and supporting software technology. When he’s not focused on technology\, he is a scuba instructor and plays in an old guy ice hockey league. \n  \nParna Sarkar-Basu  \nFounder and CEO \, Brand and Buzz Marketing \nA tech evangelist\, Parna Sarkar-Basu serves as a strategic advisor to transformational leaders and tech pioneers\, and helps them launch and reinvent companies. A brand architect\, Parna designs powerful programs to build and boost brands – corporate and individual. She also spotlights entrepreneurs and innovators and elevates them to industry thought leaders.  \nHer expertise include changing industry perception\, building market relevance\, corporate (re)-positioning and new market entry as well as supporting fund raising activities. Recipient of multiple awards\, she has propelled numerous tech companies into innovation leaders in highly competitive markets\, including artificial intelligence and enterprise software to robots and consulting services.  \nShe frequently speaks and writes on a range of topics\, including robotics\, future of work\, innovation for social good\, digital transformation\, tech trends and automation’s impact on the workforce.  \nA STEM champion\, Parna builds and supports programs to inspire women in technology and future innovators.
