We interviewed Allyson who is graduating in 2023
- Tell us about yourself.
I am a senior at the University of New Hampshire pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I love to travel, meet new people, and spend time with my family, friends, and my cat Sammy. In my free time, I like to draw, paint, play chess, and go to art museums. In the near future, I’d love to start my own Etsy shop and pick up kickboxing!
- Where do you go to college and how long are you into your program?
I am at the University of New Hampshire; second semester senior and will graduate in May 2023.
- What are you involved with on/off campus (i.e. clubs/organizations, internships, etc.)
I have been a part of UNH AMA and UNH MAC (marketing and advertising club) since my freshman year. I was also a Home Depot Brand Advocate Analyst Intern during summer of 2021 and 2022
- What excites you most about learning and working in marketing?
I am excited to apply the skills and knowledge I have gained at UNH to make a difference in the world of marketing. As a soon-to-be college graduate, it excites me that there are so many opportunities within the marketing field, like social media, SEO, marketing research, copywriting, event management, and many other career paths!
- Why are you involved with the AMA/marketing community, and how is the AMA helping empower your future career?
I have been a part of the AMA since my freshman year of college. The idea of being able to network, learn more about marketing as a whole, and meet like-minded young business professionals was appealing to me early on. The AMA has helped me develop my presentation skills and given me exposure to new software platforms, multiple competition opportunities, and case study analysis experiences.
- What does your future in marketing look like?
Starting in June 2023, I will start my career in marketing as a Brand Advocate Analyst at The Home Depot. I will leverage my creative and analytical abilities to think abstractly and provide meaningful insight into future projects I will work on.
- Would you recommend AMA Boston to others? Why or why not?
Yes! The members of AMA Boston have always made themselves available as a resource and made a conscious effort to visit our campus to speak to us about ways we can get involved. They host online and in-person seminars about career exploration and they set an example of leadership for UNH’s AMA.
