Music Marketing Industry Marketing

The event will bring together marketing professionals, creatives, and industry leaders to explore how music marketing has evolved in recent years—particularly the shift from traditional record-label models to a landscape in which artists increasingly operate as their own brands and companies —and what this transformation means for other industries and how they can relate.

The discussion will focus on topics such as:

  • The transition from label-driven marketing to artist-led brand building
  • How musicians function as independent businesses and media companies
  • Digital, community-driven, and data-informed marketing strategies in music
  • Key lessons that non-music brands and marketers can learn from today’s music industry

Format: In-person (and virtual option) panel discussion with Q&A

Speakers:

Nina Webb

Nina Webb is an award-winning music marketing strategist with over 25 years of experience building artist brands and global campaigns. She served as Head of Marketing at Atlantic Records and held senior roles at Columbia Records, working closely with artists and teams to develop strategies that evolve alongside both the artist and their art—brands and products that shift as quickly as fan tastes.

The music industry often experiences technological disruption, as youth audiences rapidly adopt new behavior to discover and consume content. Navigating this constant evolution, across both creative output and consumer behavior, places music marketing at the forefront of understanding how to build honest and lasting connections.

Today, Nina’s work sits at the intersection of industry and education. She consults with brands on music- and culture-informed marketing strategy and teaches applied marketing at the university level, translating brand development principles into real-world execution. She is also a frequent guest speaker at institutions including Boston College, Harvard University’s Music Club, and the University of New Hampshire, helping students navigate and understand the evolving music industry.
