Questions:
1. Tell us about yourself!
I grew up in Baku, Azerbaijan, and currently live in Boston. My passion for marketing led me to pursue a Master’s at Corvinus University, one of Central Europe’s leading institutions, where I developed an international perspective on marketing and business while exploring different countries.
I began my career as a Brand Marketing Intern at Coca-Cola, where I built a strong foundation in B2C marketing before moving on to Deloitte’s Business Sustainability team and later Boston Digital Agency, where I gained hands-on experience in B2B digital marketing. Today, I’m further developing expertise in multichannel advertising at AMA Boston, contributing to the Website and Social Media teams to optimize digital campaigns and enhance audience engagement.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading self-development books, visiting museums, and networking with people to gain fresh ideas and perspectives. I have been a professional chess player from a young age, which taught me discipline and strategic thinking—skills I apply in both marketing and daily life. Additionally, I have a strong interest in languages; I’m fluent in English, Azerbaijani, and Turkish, and I’m currently learning Spanish to further expand my communication skills.
2. Why are you involved with the AMA Boston / marketing community, and how is the AMA helping empower your career and growth?
My involvement with AMA Boston began when my colleague encouraged me to attend one of events with her. I was immediately inspired by the brilliance of the people, and the warmth of the community. I decided to be part of this AMAzing community and give back by joining as a volunteer in August 2024, contributing to the Website and Social Media Team. This role has allowed me to collaborate with talented individuals and immerse myself in a culture that fosters professional growth.
My contributions have focused on enhancing AMA Boston’s digital presence through website and social media projects, ensuring the organization effectively reaches and engages its audience. These experiences have expanded my knowledge of digital strategies and taught me valuable new skills. Volunteering with AMA Boston has been vital to my growth, and I look forward to further development while exploring new opportunities
3. What are some of your goals for AMA Boston and where do you see yourself with the organization in the next year?
Over the next year, I see myself taking on a more active role within AMA Boston, whether by stepping into leadership positions, leading key projects, or contributing to meaningful initiatives that align with the organization’s mission. I’m eager to explore opportunities where I can expand my skill set, collaborate with talented professionals, and develop my leadership abilities. By actively participating in marketing events and workshops, I aim to expand my network. My ultimate goal is to support AMA Boston’s growth while furthering my professional development in the process.
I also aim to focus on strengthening AMA Boston’s digital presence by improving content delivery and ensuring its website and social platforms provide value to its members and visitors alike. Additionally, I plan to leverage analytics and user feedback to develop actionable recommendations that enhance event ticket sales and member engagement.
4. What excites you about marketing/the marketing field?
To be honest, everything about marketing excites me. From childhood, I was naturally drawn to ads—whether on billboards, buses, or commercials—and I would analyze the messaging, identify gaps, and think about ways they could be improved. During university years, I’d often brainstorm ideas for friends’ and family businesses, exploring how to refine their messaging and expand their reach.
What truly fuels my passion is the ability to create value through marketing. The opportunity to craft campaigns that resonate, solve problems, and drive meaningful impact excites me. For me, marketing is about understanding people, leveraging data, and delivering solutions that make a difference—and that’s what keeps me inspired every day.
5. Who is your favorite marketer OR what is your favorite business that does marketing well?
Seth Godin is my favorite marketer because of his ability to simplify complex marketing concepts, and his focus on storytelling. His teachings and books have inspired me to focus on creating value-driven campaigns that resonate deeply with audiences.
