Questions:
Tell us about yourself!
I am a very proud mother of boy/girl twins, a wife to a loving husband and partner, a professional working woman in the marketing field and a very loyal, caring friend. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, reading, gardening and spending time on Cape Cod beaches relaxing, reading, paddle boarding and boating. My husband and I are big Boston Celtics fans and enjoy watching all the games together.
Why are you involved with the AMA Boston / marketing community, and how is the AMA helping empower your career and growth?
Marketing is a field, discipline and career I have thoroughly enjoyed for years. I was a member of NEDMA (New England Direct Marketing Association) prior to COVID. After COVID, I was at a point in my life where I had time to give back to the career I’ve loved. NEDMA wasn’t an option because it shuttered during COVID and never re-opened. I reached out to a couple of NEDMA connections, including Bob Cargill, who suggested I consider joining AMA Boston. In 2023, I became an AMA member and an AMA Boston volunteer on the social media team focused on the AMA Boston Marketers LinkedIn group.
AMA is growing my career in a number of ways: First, I’m learning all the nuances of facilitating a private LinkedIn group and running LinkedIn audio and live events for our members. I try to focus many of my LinkedIn group posts on the information shared during AMA’s various programs I attend, so I’m learning and growing my marketing knowledge in the process. I’ve also learned something from every team and board member I’ve worked with. And, I send a personal welcome note to every new LinkedIn private group member, which has resulted in numerous follow-up conversations and many new connections!
What excites you about marketing/the marketing field?
I graduated from Boston College with a dual major in marketing and technology, started my career at a technology company and moved into technology marketing. I’m excited to see the continued advancements in martech and AI, which offers powerful insights through data analytics, enabling better targeting and personalization and more effective campaigns. My hope is this creates more time and opportunity for marketers to exercise greater creativity and strategic thinking and do more integrated program management.
What is your favorite business that does marketing well?
My favorite business that does marketing well happens to also be in the marketing business: Hubspot.
What are some of your goals for AMA Boston and where do you see yourself with the organization in the next year?
Over the next year, I will continue to be an AMA Boston volunteer probably in the same role. One of my goals is to continue to increase engagement and conversations within the private LinkedIn Group.
Congratulations again, Lisa! You can hear more from Lisa by joining our AMA Boston Marketers LinkedIn Group page!
