Tell us about yourself!
I like to think of my story as one that bridges cultures, disciplines, and industries. I was born in the U.S., grew up in South Korea, and later returned to complete my education in Nebraska and Boston. My background in history taught me how to uncover patterns and tell stories with cultural depth, which I now apply to marketing. Through research, SEO, and branding, I help both individuals and companies connect with audiences in meaningful ways.
I’m also the founder of Under His Wing Production, where I blend faith, creativity, and strategy to support emerging artists and ensure their music of hope and encouragement finds its listeners. At the heart of all my work is a passion for building bridges—between people, ideas, and cultures.
Why did you join the AMA Boston marketing community, and how is the AMA helping empower your career and growth?
I joined AMA Boston to connect with marketers who share the same curiosity and passion that drives me. With a background in history and research, I’ve always believed in the power of combining storytelling and data to shape branding—and SEO has become my toolkit to make that happen. AMA is the perfect community to learn from experienced marketers while sharing my perspective on blending research, culture, and branding.
What I value most is how empowering this community is. It has connected me with mentors, peers, and inspiring voices while sharpening my skills in digital marketing. Being recognized as Member of the Month is both an honor and a reminder to keep pushing forward and giving back to this community.
What excites you about marketing/the marketing field?
What excites me most about marketing is its ability to connect people through stories. With my background in history, I’ve learned how culture and research shape narratives, and I now use SEO as a toolkit to turn those insights into authentic branding strategies.
What makes marketing even more exciting today is its bridge to the AI world. Generative tools amplify creativity, uncover insights faster, and allow us to tell stories in new ways. For me, marketing sits at the intersection of storytelling, data, and innovation.
Name a marketer you admire OR your favorite business that does marketing well.
Two marketers who have inspired me are Bob Cargill and Jeffrey DeSocio. Bob’s creativity and passion for authentic storytelling showed me how marketing can truly connect with people and fueled my own passion for the field. Jeffrey, on the other hand, introduced me to AMA Boston—opening the door to this supportive and empowering community.
Both remind me that marketing is not just about tools or strategy—it’s about people and relationships.
