Patrick Williams is a senior at Emerson College majoring in marketing communications and minoring in entrepreneurial studies. Previously, he was the President of AMA Emerson, an Integrated Communications and Influencer Engagement intern at NARS Cosmetics/Shiseido, and a Marketing Coordinator at Howdy.
During his tenure with AMA Emerson an AMA Boston collegiate chapter, he helped grow more than 80 active club members from six different majors at Emerson College in just the first year. He also organized and provided a space for Emerson students to take part in various club events such as attending guest speaker events, resume and cover letter workshops, and networking opportunities with business professionals. Because of his leadership, AMA Emerson has created a community for students to develop their professional skills and gain unique perspectives and insights from guest speakers, workshops, and other networking business events.
After graduation, he looks forward to continuing his passion for experiential marketing, public relations, and event planning in the cosmetics industry.

- Tell us about yourself.
I am a senior marketing communications major at Emerson College with a minor in entrepreneurial studies. I am a driven creative, finding a deeper meaning in my work when it comes to human connection and top-tier customer service. I cherish new experiences, bringing people together, and ensure that everyone is seen, heard, and cared for.
- Where do you go to college and how long are you into your program?
I am a second semester senior at Emerson College.
- What are you involved with on/off campus (i.e. clubs/organizations, internships, etc.)

- What excites you most about learning and working in marketing?
I love how marketing can be so dynamic and layered. There is always something to learn and so much room to explore and experiment with new and engaging ways of connecting to various communities. I have a deep appreciation for real time experiences and ensuring that consumers feel seen, heard, and cared for, and it excites me to be able to use my creativity and find a way of fostering a deeper connection with the consumer.
- Why are you involved with the AMA/marketing community, and how is the AMA helping empower your future career?
I wanted to be involved in a community of marketing majors and other passionate students outside of the classroom. AMA has allowed me to focus on my professional development, networking skills, and overall pushed me to become a better leader in my community.
- What does your future in marketing look like?
I have always looked up to Lucia Perdomo-Ruehlemann, the President of Saie, and Elise Barkan, Director of Global Franchise Development for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. Both Lucia and Elise have been guest speakers for our AMA Emerson chapter, and have discussed the importance of consumer relationships and storytelling. I am in awe of their dedication, passion, and creativity they have demonstrated in their truly impressive careers.
- Would you recommend AMA Boston to others? Why or why not?
Yes! AMA Boston and AMA Emerson opened up so many doors for my career and allowed me to gain new perspectives and learn from a whole community at my disposal. I am so grateful for my time in AMA and can’t imagine my college experience without it!
